A personal invitation · first contributor round

Help carry The Button Factory into its next chapter.

The Button Factory exists to give creative communities a place to make things happen together. Our kaupapa is grounded in inclusivity, innovation, care and shared the responsibility: a permeable refuge shaped by the people who use it,

For this first Contributor Pie round, we are inviting only a small handful of people we believe could help carry the project forward over the next 12–24 months. You have been invited because we believe you are awesome! And we feel synergy with your approach.

This is not a preformative application. It is a way for us to understand what draws you here, where you want to take responsibility and what your contribution could make possible. From there, we can have an honest conversation about fit, capacity, rates and the agreement we would make together. Thanks for the interest and heart you bring to this kaupapa.

Which areas are you interested in taking responsibility for?

Before you apply

Please make sure this matches your understanding of the invitation.

Yes, I understand. This application does not itself grant shares or guarantee a place in the Contributor Pie. If I am accepted, my role and rates will be agreed in writing before approved work earns points. When the Pie bakes and shares are legally issued, those shares represent ownership in the business. They may receive dividends when profits are distributed and may be retained or transferred where the company’s governing agreements and New Zealand law allow. Their value and any future dividend are not guaranteed.

By applying, you also confirm that you have read the public programme terms. For a visual explanation of the model, see the Contributor Pie guide.

Your application is reviewed by the Button Factory team. Portal access only follows a separate approval and agreement.
